Need something notarized in Portland but not sure where to start? Here’s the simple, stress-free guide from The Notary, LLC. We cover what to bring, what it costs, and the fastest way to get it done – in office, mobile, or online.
Your three ways to sign
In-office – Quick and budget-friendly at our office.
Mobile – We come to you anywhere in the Portland metro. Great for busy schedules, hospitals, senior living, or after-hours.
Remote online notarization (RON) – Meet with us over secure audio-video. You can be anywhere. You’ll need a strong internet connection, a device with a camera, and the ability to verify your identity digitally.
What to bring to any appointment
1) A valid ID. Bring a government-issued photo ID. Current is best. Oregon allows some IDs that expired within the last 3 years. Acceptable examples include:
- State driver license or ID card
- U.S. passport or foreign passport
- U.S. military ID
- Tribal ID
2) Your document ready to sign. Do not sign it yet unless we say to. Some documents require signing in front of the notary.
3) Names must match. The name on your ID should reasonably match the name on your document.
4) Any required witnesses. Some documents ask for witnesses. We can help coordinate witnesses with advance notice. Witness fees apply.
5) Payment. Card, cash, or invoice. We’ll always review fees upfront.
Oregon notary fees, made clear
Notary fees in Oregon are set by law. Here’s what to expect with The Notary, LLC:
Per notarial act
- Up to $10 per in-person notarial act + $5.00 administration fee per signer
- Up to $25 per remote online notarial act
Travel
- Mobile appointments include a clearly quoted travel fee agreed to in advance.
- We’ll confirm the amount and list it separately from the notary fee.
Witnesses
- Available by appointment. We’ll quote the per-witness fee upfront.
You’ll always see a clear fee list before we start.
